Labour in the Kingdom

Study #30

Is my labour worth it?

Sometimes we do something for somebody, which seems like it is not appreciated or even noticed. Then you wonder whether something you do in good faith is worth the effort. Does it have an effect? Does it mean something to somebody else?

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware that your labour in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no purpose].”

1 Corinthians 15:58

Take note that nothing we do escapes God. He sees everything, the good and the bad.

“…Your prayers and your [generous] gifts to the poor have come up [as a sacrifice] to God and have been remembered by Him.”

Acts 10:4

“Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) from all iniquity and purify for Himself a people [to be peculiarly His own, people who are] eager and enthusiastic about [living a life that is good and filled with] beneficial deeds.”

Titus 2:14

3But when you give to charity, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4So that your deeds of charity may be in secret; and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

Matthew 6:3-4

“For I tell you truly, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to and bear the name of Christ will by no means fail to get his reward.”

Mark 9:41

God’s plan is for us to be His hands and feet here on earth. Jesus even died so that we could be free from sin; therefore, we can share the good news about Jesus with the world. With our eyes fixed on Him we must live a life of servitude so that a lost world can see Him.

Conclusion

Let us do everything and let us do it wholeheartedly as if for the Lord and not for man. Our left hand must not know what our right hand does, and our father God will reward us. It is always worth it!
