Our Father is thinking of us
Study #28
Does God really think of me?
“Yet You have made him but a little lower than God [or heavenly beings], and You have crowned him with glory and honour. 6You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet:”
“What is man that You should magnify him and think him important? And that You should set Your mind upon him?
Job 7:17
Both authors ask why God’s thoughts are filled with us, who are mere mortals. There is no clear answer to that question, but many passages in the Bible tell us of God’s love for us, His continuous involvement in our lives, and that He has us at His heart.
“O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me. 2You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off.”
Psalm 139: 1,2.
“13For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother’s womb. 16Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them. 17How precious and weighty also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!”
Psalm 139:13,16,17.
“But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”
Matthew 10:30
“Even to your old age I am He, and even to hair white with age will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry and will save you.”
Isaiah 46:4
Conclusion
Even if you are not precious to anybody, and even if it feels as though nobody loves you, remember that God thinks of you. He loves you endlessly and will never leave or forsake you.
“…He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17
“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.”
Jeremiah 29:11
His thoughts about you are GOOD!
